Philadelphia School Partnership
As the Policy Manager for the Philadelphia School Partnership (PSP), Cliff Thomas works to connect education research with effective practice across the School District of Philadelphia. Prior to his position at PSP, Cliff worked as a Program Manager for the Fellowship Initiative at the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, a program designed to improve college and career outcomes for young men of color in New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Before beginning his work at JPMC, Cliff founded a college-prep charter middle school in Brooklyn, New York, leading his school to 2 years of academic progress in English and Math each year for three years consecutively. This followed a Policy and Research Analyst role at BPE in Boston, where he worked directly with district, state, and local officials on educational policy while providing data-driven support to school leaders. Cliff began his career in education teaching Chemistry and A.P. Biology in Brooklyn, NY, simultaneously providing research and writing support as part of New York City's Middle School Task Force. He received his BA with honors from Harvard University in Biological Anthropology. In addition to his work, Cliff is a Harvard First Gen Mentor at his alma mater, and is a board member at Saint Ann's School, a private school in Brooklyn, New York.
