COMMITMENT TO THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA
PhillyCORE Leaders is committed to improving education outcomes for Philadelphia students and believes that real change will require leaders who are committed to the long-term health and vitality of our city.
COMMITMENT TO ENGAGEMENT IN EDUCATION OR YOUTH SERVICES
As a Coalition of Rising Education Leaders, PhillyCORE Leaders’ members work in a variety of fields, from classroom teachers and administrators to non-profit employees and service providers. While PhillyCORE Leaders organizes events and services for the broader community, potential members must have demonstrated a significant commitment to Philadelphia students, through either their work or volunteer service in other capacities (e.g., service on youth-related boards, participation in school committees, coaching positions, etc.).
COMMITMENT TO COLLABORATION AND RELATIONSHIP BUILDING
PhillyCORE Leaders is aware of the geographic, political, ideological and generational divides that often act as barriers to successful work locally. PhillyCORE Leaders therefore believe in creating a positive and collaborative environment that is student-centered and productive. We believe that education leaders who are humble, able to find areas of common agreement and ready to work with and learn from other parts of the community will solve our city’s most pressing education challenges. Therefore, our membership should reflect these values of inclusivity and collaboration for the common good. We also ask that members invest in the organization and our mission by making a good faith effort to attend monthly PhillyCORE Leaders membership meetings.
If you have questions about joining PhillyCORE or deepening your involvement with the organization, we encourage you to contact Julian Thompson, Director of Membership.
