Mary Strain is a passionate educational leader who is highly skilled in partnership development, school and program design as well as establishing and executing growth strategies. She has provided consulting services to non profit organizations, ed tech start ups, community colleges, policy organizations, foundations and major urban school systems over the past ten years. As a teacher, program manager, Vice President of an ed tech firm, advisor and consultant, she has worked to develop and scale highly engaging and effective experiences for teachers and students in urban school systems nationwide. She also works closely with The Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color supporting their efforts to enhance the educational experience for young men of color. She holds a BA from Fordham University and an MPA from the City University of New York. As a native of the Philadelphia area, she and her husband are delighted to be raising their two young sons here. She is currently working with independent schools and a charter network to enhance educational options for Philadelphia students, promoting the agency based use of technology in schools and community based settings as well as working to ensure all students have access to highly effective teachers.
