Director of Student Support
Young Scholars Frederick Douglass Charter School
Megan Scelfo currently works as the Director of Student Support at Young Scholars Frederick Douglass Charter School and has done so since the founding of the school in 2010 as part of the Philadelphia Renaissance Schools Initiative. She supervises special education teachers' instruction and coordinates ELL, intervention, behavior health, and home bound instructional services across the school. As the founding DoSS and first in our network to hold such a role, she has created and continuously improved the policies sand procedures for all of the above mentioned programs at the school. Prior to her current role, she was a special education teacher at Mastery Charter Shoemaker and Roberto Clemente Middle.She recently finished her coursework for principal certification at Temple University. She holds a Masters in Education from Chestnut Hill College and a Bachelors in English and Sociology from LSU (Geaux Tigers!).
