Allison Rodman is an Assistant Principal and the Director of Professional Development for Mariana Bracetti Academy Charter School.
Allison began her educational career as a social studies and alternative education teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond, Virginia. In 2003, she was hired by Teach For America to assist with the opening of their Philadelphia office. Working as the Director of Special Projects, Allison supported teacher professional development, spear-headed corps member matriculation and certification, and assisted with regional fundraising efforts.
Allison joined Mariana Bracetti Academy in 2006 as a social studies lead teacher. In 2009, she moved out of her own classroom to support other teachers in theirs as an Instructional Coach. From 2011-2014, Allison worked with middle and high school teachers as the Director of Teaching and Learning.
Allison is a member of the Executive Committee and the Director of Communications for PhillyCORE Leaders.
In May 2013, Allison was selected as one of 25 educators internationally to the ASCD Emerging Leaders Class of 2013. The Emerging Leaders program recognizes and prepares young, promising educators to influence education programs, policies, and practice on both the local and national levels.
Allison received a B.A. from the University of Richmond where she majored in Political Science and Secondary Education and an M.S.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Educational Leadership. She has presented at various leadership events and conferences for organizations such as ASCD, PASCD, and the School District of Philadelphia.
