Knowledge and Communications Officer
Since joining the Economy League in 2012, Laura has focused primarily on education and talent development issues as part of the World Class Greater Philadelphia initiative. She works closely with regional stakeholders to promote the implementation of the strategies outlined in the Education & Talent Development Global Positioning Strategy, including identifying and collecting data on indicators designed to track progress toward shared regional goals. She also manages the organization's communications efforts. Laura came to the Economy League after nearly 8 years at Public/Private Ventures, a national social policy research nonprofit headquartered in Philadelphia. During that time, she oversaw the production, design, and dissemination of the organization's publications and worked on a wide range of projects focused on youth development, employment, criminal justice, and prisoner reentry. Before joining Public/Private Ventures, Laura served as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer at Dress for Success. She earned her BA in philosophy and political science from Boston University and her MPA from New York University. In addition to her involvement with Philly CORE Leaders, she serves on the WorkReady Committee of the Council for College and Career Success and is an active stakeholder in the Talent Greater Philly collaborative focused on degree attainment.
