St. Helena-Incarnation Catholic School, Independence Mission Schools
I first became interested in working in education after becoming an America Reads America Counts tutor in Harlem through my college. I came to Philadelphia as part of the Philadelphia Teaching Fellows and began teaching as a Special Education teacher in the School District of Philadelphia. After becoming a Special Ed Liaison, I wanted to learn how to become a better instructional leader, so I joined PhillyPLUS as a Resident in the first cohort. I led as a Teacher Effectiveness Coach in my first year as a PLUS Resident and am now beginning my second year as Assistant Principal at St. Helena-incarnation Catholic School, an Independence Mission School. In addition to my work in schools, I've formerly served as an Alumna Admissions Representative with my alma mater, Barnard College, as a National History Day fellow with the Historical Society of Pennsylvania and as a selector for TNTP.
