Akeesha M. Washington

Known for her tireless work ethic, energetic presentation, and hands on approach to advocacy initiatives, Akeesha Washington is an agent of change. Akeesha is a Philadelphia native with multi facet career and leadership experiences in the Philadelphia area including career transition counseling; adult and alternative education; drug and alcohol counseling; child and youth counseling; program development, management, and delivery; curriculum development and facilitation; success working with diverse populations in group and individual settings; student leadership and advocacy; and is a certified PA Professional School Counselor for grades K-6 and 7-12. She received her B.S. in Criminal Justice at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and her M.S. Ed. in School and Mental Health Counseling at the University of Pennsylvania. Akeesha currently works in research as a counseling psychotherapist at the Aaron T. Beck Research Center at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also working on her second M.S. Ed in Education Entrepreneurship at the University of Pennsylvania and seeks to develop innovative ways to have a positive and catalytic impact on education systems in Philadelphia.
